That all sounds so cool. I have been following your posts on this. Most interesting, and it sounds the students do like it. I like that you included the lessons learned, which may help others down the road interested in doing similar things. Best, and keep on blogging.

I would definitely encourage having board games in the library for students to use. At my last job in a US public library, our board games were extremely popular - usually with teens and adults, not kids interestingly enough. We also had an arrangement with our local Wal-Mart to buy board games at a discount. They would sometimes even give us games that had been returned and were in reasonable shape. Good luck with your plans.
