The problem with librarians is that we think like trees instead of as a forest. Are we driving ourselves into extinction by failing to see the big picture?

Why? Why are you always hatin' on librarians, man? You're against reference, you're against scholarly communication, you're against information instruction....
And not only that: Now, now you're accusing librarians of having wood for brains! We're like trees, huh? That's just offensive, downright offensive!

Jon, think about the purpose of the machine instead of the individual parts. When someone says "X" is our core mission, I have problems with that, especially when they don't even mention users. Balance man, balance.
