Good post. I think there is not a great deal we recall from undergrad years, but the few that you do remember are always profound and stay with us for the long haul.

Otherwise I have to say your post reminds me of the Saved By The Bell: The College Years episode where Zack wants to quit his cultural anthropology class but his prof gives him a unique special field project. Like all other episodes, Zack learns a lesson about higher education and ends up staying in the course. You can see the similarities - right.

I always found Slater to be a more profound character-- his evolution over the years demonstrates growth and maturity. Did you see the episode where he's reading Hesse? He ends up becoming an intellectual jock-- the sensitive alpha-male.

Thanks for the comment Bell-- have a good holiday and don't spend it reading too many retail articles. Check out modern pop culture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7_jYl8A73g&feature=channel

As every public school teacher knows it's all about the relationship. Of course, since you seem to mainly blog about all manifestations of the relationship, I know you already know this.

Ahh nominalism! Just the sort of thing that got me to major in philosophy. :)
