Good that you refer folks to the MySpace article in Wired. But I think the better article in that issue - and is related to your discussion of the ways bands and songs are being discovered - is Chris Anderson's article on the revolution taking place in the music industry. It's adapted from a chapter in his new Long Tail book - and gives a sense of what you'll find more of in the book (which got a somewhat mediocre review from BusinessWeek).

Interesting post! I wonder if MySpace will do for authors what it's doing for bands - or if the lack of a multimedia component means that it will fail to catch on.
Anyway, saw your presentation on Friday in Athens, and particularly enjoyed your bit on video tutorials and YouTube.
